Partenariat financier
The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust can trace its long tradition of donating to charitable causes back to at least 1915, but it was in the 1950s as Hong Kong struggled to cope with post-war reconstruction and a massive influx of immigrants, that this role became integral to its operation. In 1955, the Club formally decided to devote its surplus each year to charity and community projects. In 1959, a separate company, the Hong Kong Jockey Club (Charities) Ltd, was formed to administer donations.

What is the link between a race horse and a clown doctor? Well, it is very simple, it is ….. speed.  Indeed, when a clown doctor enters a child’s hospital room, in a split of a second, he will know how to improvise with this child.  Well, there is another strong link.  The Hong Kong Jockey Club has decided to most generously become partner with the Foundation Theodora in order to offer the weekly visits of three clown doctors in three leading hospitals in Hong Kong.  These are the Duchess of Kent hospital, the Prince of Wales hospital and the Queen Elisabeth hospital.

It is an honor and a responsibility to be chosen as partner of the Hong Kong Jockey Club.  The project selection and interviewing process has been most enriching for the Theodora team.  We are proud and most thankful of this partnership which will be the source of much joy for 4300 children per year.”
André Poulie, President of the Foundation Theodora.
